These terms govern your use of Pocket Extrovert. By using the app, you agree to these terms. We've kept them short and in plain language.
What Pocket Extrovert is
Pocket Extrovert is a private, personal tool for remembering the people in your life. It has three modes:
- Neighbors — a map-based tool for remembering who lives where, their pets, kids, and permissions.
- Friends — a personal CRM for friendships, with life event tracking, contact logging, and reach-out reminders.
- Work — a personal CRM for professional contacts, organized by organization and team.
Pocket Extrovert is a tool for being a better neighbor, friend, and colleague. Use it in that spirit.
Using Pocket Extrovert
You agree to use Pocket Extrovert lawfully and responsibly. Specifically, you agree not to:
- Use the app to harass, stalk, or intimidate anyone.
- Record information about people with the intent to cause them harm.
- Attempt to access other users' data without their permission.
- Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the service.
- Interfere with the app's operation or security.
Your data and content
You own the data you enter into Pocket Extrovert. The houses, people, pets, friends, work contacts, notes, life events, and everything else you record belongs to you.
By using the app, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your data solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. We don't use your data for anything else. If you delete your account, this license ends and your data is removed.
Third-party services and data
Pocket Extrovert relies on several third-party services to function. By using the app, you also agree to abide by their terms:
- OpenStreetMap — The Android app uses OpenStreetMap for map display. We also use OpenStreetMap's point-of-interest database for Yard Safari items. © OpenStreetMap contributors, licensed under the Open Data Commons Open Database License (ODbL). Map data is provided as-is and may not reflect current real-world conditions.
- Apple MapKit — The iOS app uses Apple Maps for map display, subject to Apple's Maps terms.
- Google Play Services — The Android app uses Google Play Services for location and push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging), subject to Google's Terms of Service.
- Apple Push Notification service — The iOS app uses APNs for push notifications, subject to Apple's terms.
Workspaces and shared data
In Neighbors mode, when you join a workspace, your neighborhood data within that workspace becomes visible to other workspace members. When you create a share link, the shared information becomes accessible to anyone with the link. Be thoughtful about what you share.
Friends and Work mode data is private to you and is never shared with other users.
Nudges and reminders
In Friends mode, you can set reach-out reminders ("nudges") for individual friends. These reminders are generated based on intervals you configure and may be delivered as push notifications through Apple Push Notification service (iOS) or Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (Android). You can adjust or disable nudges at any time within the app, and you can turn off push notifications in your device's settings.
Account termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, particularly if you use the app to harass others or engage in abusive behavior. If we terminate your account, we'll notify you at the contact information associated with your account and explain the reason.
You can delete your account at any time by contacting support@pocketextrovert.com.
